BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE

THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE is permanently displayed in a room adjacent to the cloisters. It provides an inexpensive yet lasting record and memorial to those cremated at Portchester Crematorium.

The appropriate page is opened each day so that entries may be seen on each anniversary chosen.

The volumes are a fine example of the book binder's craft and designed to last indefinitely, they are bound in the finest vellum, lettered and tooled in gold bearing the Coats of Arms of the districts within the Joint Committee. The inscriptions and motifs are hand-written and illuminated by craftsmen in the finest traditions of mediaeval manuscripts.

 
     

MEMORIAL CARDS are also available. They contain a facsimile of the entry in the Book of Remembrance and are suitable for sending to distant relatives and friends who are unable to see the inscription in the Book of Remembrance.
